Doune is situated in Central Scotland, about 8 miles from Stirling and 8 miles from Callander and the Trossachs. The village of Doune is a 2 minute drive or 12 minute walk from the Hall. Further afield are Edinburgh – 45 miles (1 hour drive or by train) and Glasgow – 45 minutes by car or 35 by train.

The Scottish Antiques Centre at Doune is a 3 minute drive away and Deanston Distillery is within a 10 minute walk. We are also handily situated for those visiting the Stirling Bull Sales at the Agricultural Market at Junction 10 of the M9, with plenty of room for parking livestock trailers if needed.

Edinburgh Castle and Arthurs Seat, Holyrood Palace and the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. Glasgow offers Museum of Modern Art, The Kelvingrove Museum and excellent shopping. The Kelpies, huge steel structures in the shape of horses heads are in Falkirk, just 25 minutes from Doune and a visit to these and the Falkirk Wheel is a must for those keen to discover Central Scotland.
There are many beautiful woodland walks and hills to climb in this part of Scotland. All you need is a pair of boots, a waterproof and a map and off you go. Then return to your room, you can run a hot bubble bath and relax from your day’s pursuits.
