Creity Hall Welcomes Stirling Marathon runners for 2nd year

We are delighted to have 4 runners stay with us again this year while they take part in the second Stirling Marathon. Creity Hall is on the main route of the marathon so when you see us flying our flags at the end of the road, you will be at Mile 5!

Last our guest runners represented Scotland, Ireland, Germany and South Africa. This year, our runners are all Scottish, so the Saltire will be flying outside Creity Hall. Looking forward to catching sight of Sam Heughan - Jamie from Outlander - who will be running on Sunday.

In 2017 we were inundated with Outlander Fans who enjoyed their visits to Doune Castle, one of the key filming locations of the Outlander series. Creity hall is just a 10 minute walk from the Castle and in the Spring and Autumn, you can see the top of the castle from our Upper Doune sitting room. Now, if only we could entice Jamie to come serve you some tea...!

Recently we've had a couple of groups of friends come stay for a long weekend and it struck us a great idea for other similarly minded groups, to book out the guest rooms, have exclusive use of our galleried lounge and use Creity Hall as a base for visiting Doune Castle, Deanston Distillery or a little trip into Stirling.

Our summer weekends are booked up now, however we have availability in September and October - just in time for Autumn nights in with friends, a glass or two of red wine, a few snacks and none of the headache of making up the spare room and cleaning the bathroom!

Gallery and Library Complete

We are delighted to say that our gallery and library rooms are now completed and furnishing them has commenced. It has been a long haul restoring these two rooms but now the hard work is complete and we have two exquisite spaces for guests to enjoy. Views from the Library extend over the treetops and you can catch a glimpse of Doune Castle. The lower gallery is a tranquil and airy space to sit and have a cup of tea or just read a book. Only a few more pictures to hang and another couple of seats to go, but the rooms are already being enjoyed by our guests.

We've managed to have the library and gallery painted, the cornicing is done and oak bookshelves (with hidden seat too) constructed. The glorious spring sunshine is streaming through the windows. This is going to be such a beautiful room to be in. Custom made spindles and oak handrail is to be fitted to the gallery next week, thanks to Stockwells of Glasgow and our ever faithful joiner Brian. Can't wait to see the final result...

Last time we showed a picture of the first snow drops raising their heads above ground. This week, after a covering of actual snow, we were greeted with this view of the bridge and river at the bottom of the garden. The snowdrops are just stunning.

We have our own mini Snowdrop Festival along the riverbank at Creity Hall. Each year we try to save those that are slipping into the river and replant them further up the bank.

Gallery Refurbishment Underway

We are excited to see work starting on the gallery and library at Creity Hall. The walls have been freshly plastered and new ceiling rose will be fitted in the next couple of weeks. Still mulling over colour schemes. Any suggestions?
